Frequently asked questions
The Difference
Q: What makes you different from other track clubs?
A: We believe that track running is an under-appreciated sport with developmental skills that transition well to any sport. Whether you run with us or another organization, as a parent, you are making a great decision in helping your child appreciate the value of training and running. At Exceleration Elite, our goal is to create a true team environment where athletes and parents feel a part of the organization and community. We welcome athletes and families from all cities in the Murrieta/Temecula Valley and neighboring areas. Our coaches come from diverse backgrounds and are passionate about the time they invest in developing the kids.
Membership
Q: What is the cost associated with membership?
A: We offer two membership options. The Full Track Season includes all practices from February to May 2025 (approximately 16 weeks/48 sessions), 2025 USATF membership, meets, uniform, and a personalized tracksuit and backpack. The Training Only option includes the first two practices of each training week from February to May 2025 (16 weeks/32 sessions). The third day is reserved for full-track participants only.
Q: Why does it cost so much?
A: We factor in all costs upfront so that we can focus on track and training throughout the season. The pricing includes all meets, uniforms, USATF membership, and practices. The fundraiser is not mandatory, and any additional gear can be purchased at your convenience. When you break down the cost, it's easy to see the value, and no other hidden expenses are expected.
Q: What merchandise is necessary to order?
A: All required uniforms are included in your Full Track Season option. Any additional gear is optional.
Q: How is the sizing determined?
A: Uniforms are sized using our sample uniforms, except for warmups. Warmups are true to size, so please order the size that your child would normally wear for athletic wear.
Q: Can I order extra uniforms or gear?
A: Yes, you can order additional uniforms or gear for an additional fee. We work with a local vendor, and the turnaround time is approximately two weeks from when the order is placed.
Discounts
Q: Do you offer a discount?
A: Yes, we offer several different types of discounts. Our discounts apply to our Full Track Season option, where you can take $25 off for Military/First Responder and Teacher.
Q: How about a sibling discount?
A: Yes, we offer a sibling discount as well. The initial child is full price, and every sibling thereafter receives a $25 discount.
Q: Can we stack discounts?
A: Yes! If you are military personnel, a first responder, or a teacher, and have multiple children, you qualify for a stacked discount (i.e., Child 1: $475, subsequent children: $450).
Fundraising
Q: Is fundraising required?
A: Fundraising is an essential part of any non-profit initiative. Fundraising helps with facility rental, procurement of equipment, interactive activities, scholarships, and the end-of-year celebration. We will be coordinating fundraisers throughout the season. Participation is strongly appreciated but not required.
Donations
Q: Does Exceleration Elite Track Club accept donations?
A: Exceleration Elite Track Club, Inc. is a [501(c)(3)] nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. By supporting Exceleration Elite Track Club, Inc., you help shape the future of young athletes.
Sponsorships
Q: How do sponsorships work for Exceleration Elite?
A: We offer three levels of sponsorship to accommodate varying contributions: Gold Sponsor ($500+), Silver Sponsor ($400–$499), and Bronze Sponsor ($300–$399). Please refer to the sponsorship policy for a full description.
Practice
Q: What is the practice schedule?
A: Practice schedules will vary from month to month based on the high school sports schedule. Vista Murrieta has asked us to remain flexible, and we ask the same of you. The practice schedule will be set on a monthly basis but is subject to the high school sports schedule. Normally, practice is held three times a week. Any changes will be communicated through the team communication app, which will be available to athletes and parents registered for the track and training season.
Q: What is appropriate gear for practice?
A: All athletes should be prepared for practice with running shoes, spikes (or other appropriate footwear for jumps or throwing), water, and running attire. It's recommended that athletes have sweats and/or compression wear for warmth during cooler practice evenings.

Track Meets
Q: I'm a first-time track participant. What can I expect at a track meet?
A: Track meet durations may vary, but please plan for an all-day affair ranging from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Some track meets are broken up into two days. Things to bring include, but are not limited to, chairs, blankets, snacks, beverages, a book to read between events, portable charger, canopy tents, and items you think you would need for a picnic. Some facilities have bleachers, and chairs may not be necessary. Exceleration Elite will always have a home base tent set up, and we prefer team parents to set up their camp near the home base.
Q: What should I bring for my track athlete?
A: The night before, please ensure that you have the athlete's uniform, warmups, backpack, running shoes, and spikes (or other footwear needed for field events) ready. Some track and field meets will require different length spikes, and we will inform you of the requirements for each meet. When feeding your athlete, please ensure they are consuming foods their body can absorb and not need to expel, as they will need to conserve energy. It's important not to overeat on the day of competition. A carb-filled dinner the night before is typically a good practice to adopt.
Q: Do I have to pay?
A: Athletes' fees are covered in registration, and Exceleration Elite will handle all the registering of athletes. If you confirm that you are coming to a meet and then no-show, a $15 fee will be assessed by Exceleration Elite. Some track meets will charge an entry fee in addition to a parking fee, so be prepared for those potential costs.
Q: How do we know which events the athlete is participating in?
A: A roster of athletes and the events they are competing in will be available at the home base at each track meet. Additionally, reminders will be sent out through the team communication app.
Q: Is every track meet mandatory?
A: No, the beauty of track is that your athlete can train and develop an appreciation for health and wellness whether they compete or not. We would prefer every athlete to attend as many meets as scheduled, but we understand that some athletes are multi-sport and may miss a weekend. If your athlete is part of a relay team, we ask that you try your best to make the meets to build and sustain continuity.
